Perseveration is probably the most frequently found characteristic behaviour of patients with organic brain involvement.
It refers to the conscious continuation of an act or an idea.
It is seen in the following conditions:-
- Delirium
- Epilepsy
- Dementia
- Schizophrenia
- Normal subjects under extreme fatigue
- In drug induced states
